OFFICE APPOINTMENTS
We are an appointment based facility, but do reserve time in our schedule each day for urgent, same-day care. Please note that we do not schedule same-day appointments for physicals.
We strive to adhere to the TennCare standards concerning appointment availability, as follows:
ESTABLISHED PATIENTS

Emergency visits - Please call us prior to coming in: you may be asked to describe your symptoms to a nurse to determine whether you should be seen in the office or proceed to the emergency room.

Urgent visits - to be scheduled within 48 hours.

Routine follow-up or preventive visits - to be scheduled within 2-3 weeks.
Our wait time for scheduled appointments does not exceed 45 minutes, per the TennCare guidelines. Please call our office for the next available appointment time.
NEW PATIENTS
We are currently accepting new patients! Because of Dr. Brown's limited office hours, new patients will be established in our practice with either Dr. Shivers or one of our non-physician practitioners. Due to the large number of patients we see on a regular basis, in addition to the need to reserve time each day for urgent care, appointment availability may be limited. Please call our office to schedule your first visit.
SPORTS PHYSICALS
We are happy to perform sports physicals on our established patients. Please note that we do not schedule same-day appointments for sports physicals. It is best to call at least 1-2 weeks before your child's previous year physical expires to schedule an appointment. Your insurance may require a one-year (365-day) interval between physicals. Please bring your child's sports physical forms, with the history portion completed, to his/her appointment.
PROCEDURES
Appointments for minor surgical procedures are generally scheduled at 11:00 a.m. and/or the last appointment of the day (either 3:30 or 4:30 p.m.). Please note that surgical issues may require an initial consultative visit prior to scheduling any procedure(s).
